The faculty of the Department of Physical Therapy have active research programs, funded by both national (National Institutes of Health) and local (NY State, PSC-CUNY) agencies. Faculty research focuses on a broad range of disciplines such as Neurophysiology, Motor Control, Biomechanics and Biomedical sciences. Many of our faculty collaborate with researchers in other CSI - CUNY departments and institutions world-wide. The collaborative nature of our research can be observed in both investigator projects and in our educational program. DPT students are exposed to all aspects of research, including experimental design, data acquisition and analysis, and preparation of manuscripts. Many of our students can brag that they are “published” as approximately half of their capstone projects lead to publication. In addition to the supervision of our DPT students, our faculty also supervise undergraduate students.
